Taken while on a trip to Japan in a town called Hamakita, at the Hamakita Hiryuu Matsuri, a festival in honor of Ryujin, god of the Tenryuu River. There was kite flying, dancing, music, food, and crafts.

This photo is one of my favorites from the trip. I love the expression on the boy's face as he is flying his kite and the way his father (or grandfather) is positioned.

Many more photos from the trip can be seen in this gallery. Only a portion of the pictures have been uploaded yet - there are many more to come in the near future.
Oliver Chong > 2008.06.18 - Day 67 :

Irene's parents were kind enough to bring us some planters of herbs. Three BIG planters and two tomato plants. The lighting this evening was nice and diffuse, perfect for this shot. I really liked the contrasting textures and shapes.

This is a 5 exposure HDR gone black and white.

I have also edited my first back fill picture. I am starting with a photo from Elliot's graduation. Sometime soon I will get all those photos online.... or so I will keep telling myself.
